A BIG THANK YOU to the DUKE STUDENT VOLUNTEERS

On behalf of the Golden Belt Neighborhood Association and myself, I would like to THANK  all the  DUKE UNIVERSITY STUDENT VOLUNTEERS that came  out for our KEEP DURHAM BEAUTIFUL project and neighborhood clean up. Students from California, New Jersey, Michigan, Iowa, and of course North Carolina to name a few states gathered for their 1st experience in the Durham community.

All the painting, sweating and trash pickup cleaned up the community just in time for our GBNA meeting and Golden Belt’s 3rd Friday Art Walk.

Thank you for your time and it was a pleasure meeting you all good luck with your studies.

Two New Neighbors Bikram Yoga Durham studio & Dogstar Tattoo

Dogstar Tattoo &  Bikram Yoga Durham studio will be joining us in East Durham signing lease with Scientific Properties @ the Golden Belt Campus.

With the new FREE  Bull City Connector Bus (sponsored by the city of Durham and Duke University) running every 15 mins weekdays Monday- Saturday every 15 minutes from 7am-6pm weekdays, and every 20 minute the rest of the time, Traffic should start to pick up in the neighborhood. Hopefully enticing a restaurant to forge ahead and make Golden Belt home. Even though the Cotton Room and Mobile Caters have been great, it would be nice to have something more readily available.

BULL CITY CONNECTOR ROUTE – running through Downtown Durham, from Golden Belt  on East Main St. heading west through downtown, past Brightleaf Square and Ninth Street until turning up Erwin Rd. and terminating on Trent Dr. near Duke South.
